Central Hall Westminster has announced that it has been chosen to host the long-awaited final of the FIFA Interactive World Cup (FIWC17) for the first time, taking place from 16-18 August 2017.
Millions of virtual footballers all over the world have been taking part in the Road to London 2017 qualifying rounds to secure one of just 32 seats in the Grand Final heats taking place at Central Hall. Those who successfully navigated online qualification gained access to a live event in their region in a bid to reach the London Grand Final. The 32 finalists come from all over the world including United Kingdom, United States, Brazil, France, Germany, Argentina and more.
Heats for the event take place in Central Hall’s Lecture Hall and Library on 16-17 August and the final four will battle it out in front of a live audience expected to be in excess of 1,000 in the Great Hall on Friday 18 August.
Attendees will include corporate guests, influencers and media. Members of the public will be admitted on Friday when games will be set up in the Lecture Hall and Library.
The central London venue, with its cutting edge technical capabilities and AV equipment, will provide a fitting backdrop for the culmination of the world’s largest football gaming event.
On Final Showdown day, the remaining four finalists will be battling it out on gaming consoles to win the top prize of US$200,00 along with a trip to The Best™ FIFA Football Awards. The runner-up at the event will take home $40,000.
