Central Hall Westminster has increased its turnover by 20 per cent in the year ending August 31 2012.
Revenue grew from £4.4m to £5.3m over the 12-month period, buoyed by a number of large overseas conference and award ceremonies. The venue reached its centenary this year and rebranded itself to the events market.
Paul Southern, Managing Director of Central Hall Westminster, said: “This outstanding result was achieved despite Central Hall Westminster not hosting any of the large scale events surrounding the 2012 Olympics.”
Central Hall Westminster has hosted an array of high profile events in 2012. One of the largest was the Laureus World Sport Awards Ceremony, televised globally and attracting guests from the sports, entertainment and fashion world. Tennis ace Novak Djokovic received the Sportsman of the Year award from jury members Sebastian Coe and Boris Becker at the event. The evening was hosted by Clive Owen, Bar Reli and other prominent presenters.
