Conference and events centre Central Hall Westminster, London, has started work on the undercroft area of the building to create a new 200-capacity event space as part of a £500,000 redevelopment.

The new space will be available to event planners from the beginning of March 2014.

The redevelopment follows the refurbishment of the venue’s café which was completed in June last year, and will enable the whole of the undercroft to be opened up to accommodate dinners for 360 guests and receptions for over 700 guests.

Paul Southern, Managing Director of Central Hall Westminster, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to reveal some of the original architecture and create a new and exciting event space. The staff have been sneaking down to look at the renovation as it is amazing to see what had been hidden for so long. We cannot wait to show the area to our clients.”
