The Celtic Manor Resort in Newport is to launch 10 new luxury holiday lodges for the business and leisure market next year as part of a major £4.3m development.

Construction work began last week on the lodges which will sleep up to eight people in four double or twin bedrooms.

The first phase in a potential development of 60, the log cabins will be known as Hunter Lodges and will all be situated close to Celtic Manor’s Twenty Ten Course, with views across the Usk Valley. They will also overlook the 16th and 17th holes of the 2010 Ryder Cup course.

Celtic Manor Resort Chief Operating Officer Ian Edwards, said: “By adding the Hunter Lodges to our accommodation portfolio we can increase our capacity for larger conferences and also offer something different to delegates who are looking for an even more luxurious conference experience. For conferences involving overnight stays, companies will be able to sleep up to eight people in four double or twin bedrooms and the spacious lining areas offer the perfect environment for team building or incentive rewards.”

Edwards added: “Outside of the school holidays, we also see the lodges being popular for golf groups, corporate incentive trips and spa breaks.”
