Events company Camm & Hooper has signed a 23-year lease for a new venue, ‘South Place Society’, in Moorgate.
The venue is set to open in September 2019. It will offer space for public, corporate and private events in the centre of London, a five-minute walk from Liverpool Street station.
South Place Society is Camm & Hooper’s seventh addition to its expanding portfolio of London venues.
The company’s ‘Booze Lab’, the space in which all Camm & Hooper’s bespoke cocktails are concocted by chief booze engineer Patrick Hobbs, is moving to the Moorgate venue’s ground floor and will coincide with the launch of new booze experiences, tasting packages and infusion making classes. The downstairs space can be hired for exclusive drinks receptions and private dinner functions.
A range of event menus have been carefully curated by executive head chef Ronnie Murray, formerly of Hix Restaurants, and his team of 20 chefs.
Camm & Hooper’s new site was the original home of the South Place Ethical Society, the only remaining ethical society in the UK, from 1793. The basement event space has room for 180 chairs or 260 standing guests.
Debra Ward, managing director for Camm & Hooper, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to launch our next venue in the City, which features a fantastic industrial space for bespoke parties and corporate functions.
“We’re particularly excited to be moving the Booze Lab. This gives us a unique opportunity to offer guests an unrivalled range of creative drinks and immersive experiences.”
