Aberdeen city council leader Barney Crockett
has said he wants to see a train station at the new Exhibition and Conference
Centre planned for Dyce, reports the Aberdeen Express.
Crockett believes increasing
passenger numbers could also persuade rail chiefs to invest in a new city
centre station.
“We have the city centre, the
harbour development in Torry, the airport, and the new Aberdeen Exhibition and
Conference Centre. We need to link them with each other and with industrial
areas.”
He
described improvement in the railway service as a “magical ingredient” for the
local economy.
