Last week, 31 May, saw the launch of Chessington World of Adventures Resort’s new ‘Business Gone Wild’ corporate event offering. A group of press and clients, including Blue Square Marketing and First Rate Exchange Services, were the first to experience the new teambuilding activities, menus and facilities the Resort now offers.
Fire Dance mocktails awaited guests in the Serengeti Suite of the sri-themed Holiday Inn Chessington. Close encounters of the wild kind were also on display as animal keepers introduced ferrets, Amazon parrots and snakes. Adventurous guests interacted with the wildlife with animal keepers close by for Q&As.
Following a short briefing, guests were grouped to take on the Adventure Tracking Challenge Chessington’s teambuilding challenge, which sees the classic treasure hunt receive a technological boost. Using the latest Samsung Galaxy Tablets teams use their wits to navigate around the Park to find hotspots. The teambuilding was structured to give guests the opportunity to not only explore the Park and its rides and attractions, but also the corporate facilities available at the Hotel Inn Chessington including meeting spaces and bedrooms for overnight stays.
Guests also got a taste of the new Totally Molecular teambuilding activity as one of the challenges of the treasure hunt; savoury blinis topped with creme fraiche, sprinkled with deconstructed sun dried tomato powder served with spherified olives were created Heston Blumenthal style by guests. Teams were marked on identifying ingredients and food presentation, after which they devoured their creations.
Once the hunt was complete it was back to hotel’s Zri restaurant where the winning team was announced. Guests took part in a cocktail making masterclass before sampling the new ican inspired menu. The evening ended with guests on the terrace taking in the ican inspired savannah at the Surrey Resort.
