Global events and communications agency Spark Thinking has announced the winner of its ‘Student of the Year’ award.

Jemima Blandy (pictured centre right) was named as winner at the ceremony, which took place in the UK Centre for Events Management at Leeds Beckett University.

She received the award as part of her graduation, achieving a first class in her BA (Hons) Event Management degree.

Spark – which is the sister brand of global healthcare events specialists Ashfield Meetings & Events – is a consultancy which aims to enhance the effectiveness of live events and communication. It has worked with brands such as Danone Nutricia, the Milken Institute and Jaguar Land Rover.

Spark’s account director Heather Sharp (pictured centre left) presented Blandy with the award. She said: “We are very proud of our partnership with Leeds Beckett University. As a Leeds Beckett alumni myself, it’s a huge honour to champion our next generation of thinkers, leaders and influencers.

“It’s so important to recognise up and coming event planners, to encourage them and their creative approach to experiences. It was a pleasure meeting Jemima at her graduation and she is clearly a worthy winner. She’ll be a fantastic asset to our industry.”

Blandy commented: “It’s a lovely surprise and a great accolade to be given. The Spark Thinking team and the events they deliver are really inspiring, so I feel proud to be recognised in this way.”
