The Brighton Centre has won its bid to host the Association for the Study of Medical Education (ASME) Annual Scientific Meeting for the second year.

The event, which is to take place 16-18 July 2014, will be worth over £600,000 to the city of Brighton and Hove.

“We are delighted to be welcoming back the ASME annual conference in 2014,” said Penny Parker, Business and Communications Manager at the Brighton Centre. “The Association’s first conference at the Centre took place in July this year. ASME re-booked for 2014 based on the successes of its 2012 event.

“Securing a re-booking is the best complement we can receive from a client. We have built a great partnership with the ASME and we look forward to building on this relationship year on year.”

ASME’s Annual Scientific Meeting welcomed over 500 delegates between the 18 -20 July 2012, and provided guests the opportunity to discuss and debate innovations and developments within medical and healthcare education. Alongside the main conference and annual general meeting, workshops, group sessions, lectures as well as presentations of research papers and abstracts took place, with experts on hand to share their knowledge with the students that are the future generation of the medical profession.
