Belfast Wateont Conference Centre last week welcomed 450 delegates to the largest Gastroenterology Conference in the UK and Ireland.
The BIG Gastroenterology Conference saw the coming together of the three major organisations in Gastroenterology in the British Isles, namely The Irish Society of Gastroenterology (ISG), British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) and Ulster Society of Gastroenterology (USG).
Medical and surgical specialists gathered for a two-day series of clinical sessions, poster presentations and training.
Michael Dineen, Chief Executive Officer of the Irish Society of Gastroenterology, organiser of the event, said: “The BIG Gastroenterology Conference was a first for the three societies and Belfast Wateont, and it was a tremendous success. The hospitality and the service delivery was second to none; the Wateont teams’ professionalism and key attention to detail made my role more enjoyable.”
The event generated an economic value of around £250k, a venue spokesman told CN.
