The Lindeth Howe hotel in the Lake District, which was previously owned by Beatrix Potter, has unveiled a £1m investment and a new focus on conferences and corporate events.
The hotel was built in 1879, and was owned by Potter for almost 20 years at the beginning of the 20th century.
The current owners have unveiled a new look for the hotel, including a ‘Hill Top’ room for business gatherings and conferences. Named after Potters famous farmhouse, the room is full of nature-inspired furnishings and can host up to 42 delegates.
A partnership with tour operator Mountain Goat means high-level delegates can be picked up straight from the train in a luxury mini-coach and taken to the hotel.
An array of other flexible teambuilding activities can be built into a corporate stay, including a round of golf at the nearby Windermere Golf Club, archery in the gardens once tended by Beatrix Potter, or a murder mystery night to test out some creative thinking.
Hotel manager Tony Holden says: “We’re all very excited with the hotel’s new look, which we think still captures the spirit of Beatrix Potter’s love of nature and the Lake District landscape, but will also appeal to 21st century corporate guests.
“The latest investment at the hotel means we can offer more flexibility than ever before, giving businesses a unique location to energise, inspire teams and really help give them a competitive edge.”
