BBC Worldwide Showcase welcomed a record number of delegates for its second successive year at ACC Liverpool. More than 700 TV buyers from across the globe descended on the city to watch thousands of hours of television in specially constructed booths.

Talent to take to the red carpet on the opening night of the event included Moone Boy’s Chris O’Dowd and Father Brown’s Mark Williams.

Highlights included a themed ‘ica’ dinner to spotlight the BBC Natural History Unit’s acclaimed series. The following night a Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the series, saw the venue’s auditorium host a full orchestra perming music from the show.

Bob Prattey, Chief Executive of ACC Liverpool which is home to BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, said: “BBC Worldwide was keen to build on the success of its Showcase by moving the event to Liverpool last year. This year has proved to be another first-class conference and we enjoyed welcoming a record number of BBC Worldwide’s international delegates to our venue.”
