ACC Liverpool was overrun by ‘vampires’ as part of filming for a hit BBC drama. Parts of BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena underwent a spooky transformation for Young Dracula, due to air on CBBC from 29 October.
The venue’s loading bay doubled up as the Slayers lab and featured scenes starring Chair of the Slayers Guild, Mina Van Helsing, played by Joanne Knowles and her son, the Slayer, Jonno Van Helsing, played by actor Terry Haywood. Filming also included feral ‘vampires’ being tackled by Vladimir Dracula (Gerran Howell) and his former tutor Bertrand, played by Cesare Taurasi, against the backdrop of The Wheel of Liverpool.
The venue, more used to welcoming conferences and concerts than blood sucking demons, was also used to portray the bases for the Slayers Guild and the Vampire High Council.
