The CEO of event management agency Banks Sadler, Leigh Jagger, has made the UK’s first ever Power Part Time Top 50 list.
The list names the top 50 most senior level workers with flexible working practices. It was unveiled in the Financial Times yesterday, and featured in the Daily Telegraph, in a bid to dispel the myth that only low skilled, low paid jobs can work with flexible working hours.
Jagger is the sole representative of the events industry on the list. She works four days a week, choosing to do so to participate in her children’s day-to-day routine and achieve a better work/ life balance.
When Leigh joined Banks Sadler, the company had one office and 40 members of staff; the organisation has now grown to five offices and 170 employees strong.
Since going part-time in 2002, Leigh has led the organisation through growth and its most successful years in its history, including reaching record breaking profits in 2011, an increase of 74 per cent on the previous year.
Banks Sadler says it fully supports family-friendly working practices, helping attract and retain a variety of talent and ensuring a wealth of skills and experience from those who may not want to work full time.
“I’m delighted to have been included in the list,” says Jagger. “Increasingly our clients look to us to have corporate responsibility and ethics policies which mirror their own values in terms of diversity and flexible working. I hope this can reassure others that juggling both family and career commitments is achievable in the event management profession.”
