Corporate hospitality and events agency ATP Event Experts has reported a “substantial increase” in hospitality requests from clients seeking ‘authentically British’ experiences. The findings come with just over a week until the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The agency says event bookers and corporate clients are opting for more traditional British experiences alongside the usual fine dining establishments used for hospitality purposes. Ale tastings at gastro pubs and British cookery classes at family-run businesses are just a few of the more traditional experiences that have moved to the top of the list, it says.
“Our events and corporate travel teams have been preparing for the 2012 Games since the day of the announcement was made,” says Head of UK Event Operations at ATP Event Experts, Neil Pace. “As a result, over the past few years our teams have been busy sourcing and securing hospitality spaces within the city’s famed locals, foodie pubs serving real ale, and the more traditional drinking establishments to ensure that anyone who wants to enjoy an authentically British experience will get the opportunity to do so.”
The company is also the official ticket and travel agent for the Dutch National Olympic Committee.
The ATPI Group employs over 1,400 people worldwide in 52 offices situated in 33 countries.
