Bristol-based conference venue and home of Bristol City Football Club, Ashton Gate Stadium, has released a short video to “visually highlight the Covid secure measures that have been put in place to host events safely within government guidelines”.
The video demonstrates the social distancing, catering, and track and trace measures that have been put in place, following the venue’s ‘Events safety pledge’, a five point plan set up that aims to “give assurance to all upcoming and prospective clients that events can be hosted safely at the venue”.
Venue sales manager at Ashton Gate Stadium, Charly Andrews, said: “Ashton Gate Stadium is leading the way in bringing business events back to life in a COVID secure way, as well as working hard to get fans safely returning to watch sport as part of the #LetFansIn campaign. It’s been time to get creative for the Venue Sales team, with the focus being on ‘what can we do’ instead of what we can’t do. We have hosted Drive-In Movies, Comedy events and a Murder Mystery evening, and now are leading the way in showing that small business events are safe to return.
Amy Bramhall, convention bureau manager for Meet Bristol, added: “The meetings and events industry is a key employer in Bristol, and despite the industry as a whole suffering the detrimental effects of the pandemic it’s been wonderful to see our businesses adapt and innovate in order to do whatever they can to support their clients and overall recovery.”
“Ashton Gate Stadium is not only the city’s largest venue but one of the most versatile, hosting sporting events, concerts, conferences, and exhibitions. At the Convention Bureau we collaborate with venues and suppliers to support the recovery of the industry and its businesses in any way we can. We remain optimistic and hope to see positive change in the near future to ensure our industry survives.”
