The first open space event and ‘unconference’ for UK event professionals, The Annual Exchange, will open its doors next week.

The event is running from 9:30am next Thursday, 19 July, at the Vox Conference Centre in Birmingham. It will close at 5:30 on the same day.

The event is billed as the first in which attendees are in the driving seat in regard to content. They will decide upon the discussion topics they want on the agenda, rather than the producers.

Among those in attendance will be London Business School, UK Finance, Mears Group, mcm creative group, and the University of Leicester. They will be discussing topics including event recruitment, retaining talent, the psychology of networking, mentoring and time management.

This inaugural pilot event will also include five focused hours dedicated to networking, the result of a collaboration between EWL Club UK, The Future in 15 Show, ELEVATE Mentoring, and the Event Marketing Association.

The AEE says it hopes to “drive something new and engaging not just to [our] own networks and members, but also to the wider events industry in terms of an innovative and dynamic event concept.”
