Eventprofs now have until 14 September to complete the Annual Event Industry Salary Survey.

As the industry rebuilds, Mash Media and EventHub.Jobs felt it was vital to accurately assess current salaries, benefits and ways of working, to see how they may change in the future.

Commenting on the deadline extension, Robert Kenward, founder of EventHub.Jobs, said: “We are calling for everyone in the industry to come forward and spend seven minutes to give us the data that our industry needs to build back in the coming years. We need to be able to benchmark salaries, benefits and ways of working.”

About the survey

The survey asks questions about mental health, gender and ethnicity in order to “create an accurate and rounded picture of the industry, understand what employers are currently giving and what candidates want and need.”

“The whole industry will benefit from this data and will be available to everyone. I urge you all to take seven minutes out of your day to complete the survey and help the industry bounce back,” added Kenward.

The role of data

Dale Parmenter, CEO of DRPG, said: “The way we reward across the industry is very sporadic and there are very little guidelines for agencies and production companies to set a standard, which leads to enormous disparities across the sector.

“This must cause confusion for employees and employers alike and may well be another barrier in attracting new people into events roles. The more data we have, and most importantly, share, will be key in building a more resilient industry.”

Martin Fullard, editorial director of Mash Media, concluded: “As the events industry is not accurately measured by the Office for National Statistics, there is a distinct lack of accurate data from which we can build an accurate picture.

“That is why we must survey and assess our community regularly. This salary survey will be another critical piece of work which will shine a light on how our industry compares, giving both employers and employees a better understanding of the current landscape.”
