German-headquartered online event management and ticketing provider, Amiando, has rebranded under the name Xing Events. This rebranding goes hand in hand with a new logo and redesign of the xing-events.com website.

Around three years ago, Munich-based Amiando was acquired by Xing AG, operator of the online business network Xing.

From now on, Xing Events will continue its established core business of online ticketing and will also advertise and present business events on Xing.

Members now also have access to features that make it easy for them to find events matching their needs and attended by interesting people. Event matching is based on members’ profile entries and their personal networks.

“As an online business network, Xing is unique in providing an integrated, comprehensive service for professional event management,” says Xing CEO Thomas Vollmoeller. “Xing Events is the next step in that process. The business event market can be somewhat opaque, so we want to introduce transparency there in order to lead our more than 6.7m members in German-speaking countries to top events that are also useful to them. The first features based on member networks are being launched within the scope of the rebranding.

“And that’s just for starters. Our members can look forward to a number of new products, services and features to help them in their daily working life beyond the Xing platform.”

Integrata AG, an independent full service provider for training services in Germany, is now the first major Xing Events partner whose events will be prominently placed on the platform. Events organised by other partners will follow in due course.

At the same time as the rebranding, Xing Events is introducing a new smartphone app for iOS and Android that allows users to search and browse any events organised by them. The app also suggests events and guests that match the user’s profile and presents users with local events and events that their contacts will be attending. The app also has various interaction options such as sending and receiving messages and contact requests.

The free app will be available in the Apple App Store soon, and is also scheduled for release in the Google Play Store at the end of this year.

Xing is the social network for business professionals with around 14m members worldwide. Xing is a platform where professionals from different industries can meet up, find jobs, colleagues, new assignments, cooperation partners, experts and generate business ideas. Members can meet and exchange views in over 50,000 specialist groups, while also getting together at networking events.

Xing events offers organisers an event management software for online event registration and ticketing. More than 180,000 organisers of conferences, seminars and corporate events around the world currently value Xing Events as their partner.
