A unique new Alpaca Walking Experience will launch this Easter, for companies heading to the Lake District World Heritage Site.
Corporate groups now have the chance to explore the 400 acre Armathwaite Hall estate alongside a friendly family of alpacas, who live on site at the adjoining Lake District Wildlife Park near Keswick.
The new one hour guided Alpaca Walks will be led by expert keepers who have nurtured and cared for the four woolly alpacas – Buzz, Herbie, Hector and Hugo – since they arrived at the Park as youngsters last year. It will provide an opportunity for some creative team building.
Alpaca Keeper Claire Ivill said: “Alpacas love people, so interacting with these gentle, friendly creatures is a great way for people to learn about communication and engage with the natural environment in a completely new way.
“The Alpaca Walks provide a different perspective of the Lakeland landscape and allow participants to take themselves completely out of their comfort zone.”
Along the way the keepers will be sharing plenty of specialist knowledge about these gentle creatures, who hail originally from South America and are renowned for their soft luxurious fleece. Delegates will also find out more about their individual characteristics and experience these friendly animals on a one-to-one basis.
The Alpaca Walking Experience costs £50 per person. It also includes free entry to the Lake District Wildlife Park, where participants can meet some of the alpacas’ South American cousins, the guanacos.
