UK travel, meeting and event agency Agiito has said wellbeing is now expected to be part of an events agenda.

“This might mean a team building element, off site activities, or longer time built in for coffee breaks in order to promote social connections and also healthier menu options,” explains Caroline Medcalf (pictured), director of venue finding and events, Agiito.

According to Medcalf, clients are realising that buffets are not the most sustainable option due to food waste. Instead, they are choosing more vegan-based menus.

She also reveals that the agency is talking to its clients about providing quiet spaces and more free time into an events agenda.

“The requirement for team building has changed,” she says.

“With the welcomed increased focus on sustainability and CSR policies, we are working with customers to provide activities with a purpose, and offering delegates worthwhile team building which includes a sense of giving back to communities.

“As professionals, we not only need to keep up to date with what is out there, but also ensure our teams are leading the way and providing our customers with the options they need to make informed decisions about their delegates wellbeing,” she adds.
