Kerrin MacPhie, Director of Sales at ACC Liverpool, is to take on the position of ICCA UK & Ireland Chapter Chair from October 2012. James Rees, current Chair of the Chapter, is to step down after four and a half years, one of the longest serving terms.

“I’m incredibly proud of the work our committee has done in developing the ICCA UK & Ireland Chapter,” said Rees. “During the recession our association has remained totally relevant and, most of all, ICCA continues to deliver measurable ROI for its members.”

Despite tough economic circumstances, the Chapter has seen membership grow over the last few years and Rees’s tenure has also seen the Chapter lead the way in working alongside other UK associations and with ICCA partners in different territories around the globe.

MacPhie will officially take up the new role at ICCA’s Annual Congress in October and paid tribute to the contribution Rees had made to the association.

“James leaves ICCA UK & Ireland Chapter in a really strong place, and it’s exciting to be taking on the role looking positively to the future despite the challenging trading environment for our members. I’d like to thank him on behalf of the board for the passion and commitment he has shown to the Chapter.”

Rees says he will continue to be involved in ICCA on both a domestic and international level.

“Being Chair of the UK & Ireland Chapter has been a genuine honour. I continue to be a massive supporter and fan of the association and wish Kerrin the best of luck, she’ll bring a great combination of experience, enthusiasm and innovation to the Chapter and it will be in safe hands under her stewardship.”
