The Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO) is to launch an awards gala to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
The awards will be held as part of the association’s forthcoming annual conference at the Barbican, 25-27 January 2012.
The Awards will recognise ‘outstanding contribution to the professionalism and achievement of excellence in the Conference and Events industry’ and the closing date for entries is 11 January 2012.
The award categories are:
ABPCO Award for Academic Achievement in Event Management Studies
Awarded to a student who has, through their academic work, provided further research or insight into our industry. Or through a work placement or similar been responsible for innovative or best practice in operational delivery.
ABPCO’s One to Watch
Awarded to an individual who has, through the early years of their career, made a wider contribution to our industry. Or through day-to-day work, been responsible for innovative or best practice in operational delivery.
ABPCO Lifetime AchievementAward
Awarded to an individual who has, through their own professional practice or their contribution to wider industry, brought about a step-change to the professionalism and achievement of excellence in our industry.
ABPCO Chair Michael Foreman said he was “thrilled to announce three special awards to three deserving individuals on the evening of our gala dinner”.
“ABPCO,” Foreman added, “is very excited about the plans for its next annual conference and 2012 is shaping up to be our best conference yet. We would encourage the whole of the conference industry to join us on this special occasion and get a taste of the new ABPCO at the dawn of our next 25 years.”
