London venue 30 Euston Square says catering excellence, customer service and investments in cutting-edge technology are key to an 11% rise in number of events held at the venue last year.

The grade II listed conference venue saw a 12.5% increase in corporate direct bookings and the events team says that of the 1,735 enquiries successfully converted into events, 35% were repeat bookings. All that translated into a revenue increase of 5% year-on-year.

“With a 25% increase in the number of Christmas parties, we finished 2017 on a real high,” says Yvette Chatwin, 30 Euston Square’s general manager. “We wanted to grow our direct business in 2017… and the strategy has clearly paid off and I am delighted that it has been reflected across a host of metrics including revenue, number of events and footfall.”

In 2017 the venue launched what it claims was the UK’s first online event booking platform, replacing the time-consuming need to confirm details by phone.

For 2018 the venue is increasing its plant-based menus and spring/summer menus will feature vegan dishes.
