Twitter is back on the offensive.
The social media platform is trying to figure out a way to grow its user base and increase revenue and has plans to introduce some major new features.
The feature we will explore here is codenamed Project Lightning.
For many people – myself included – Twitter is the go-to platform for breaking news and current events and Project Lightning plans to serve up the latest trending events in full screen visual glory; allowing people to swipe through interesting content in the form of Tweets, Images, Videos and Vines in a format that sounds similar to Tinder – don’t pretend you haven’t tried it!
I believe this will cement Twitter as the ultimate application for people to both view and interact with all events – take a look at live streaming through Periscope, we will cover this in another post. Consumer behaviour drives business expectation and the more people using Twitter the higher the expectation for it to be embraced even further in the meetings and events industry.
I use this phrase a lot when talking about user adoption and I believe it is highly relevant here: “Don’t change behaviours, embrace them!”
