The return of the traditional Christmas party

Having
had a chat with fellow venues along the M4 corridor, it appears that
traditional Christmas parties are on the up and organisers are looking
for a taste of Yuletide magic. Perhaps that’s no surprise, over the last
few years employees have had to endure pay cuts and freezes and even
total suspension of the annual Christmas party as budgets dwindled. So
it seems that what we’re crying out for is a return to that wonderful
festive magic to lift the spirits and indulge in the romanticism of
Christmas again.

Organisers want parties that capture the charm
of Christmas from Lapland themed wonderlands and grottoes to more
classic parties with traditional trinkets. I’m finding that organisers
want to see that venues have sprinkled some fairy dust on the
celebrations to create a warm and inviting setting which embraces the
magic, excitement and feel good factor that Christmas brings.

Employers
see the benefit of hosting Christmas parties to both reward and
incentivise employees. The corporate entertainment tax allowance enables
employers to spread festive cheer, and most importantly sets the budget
aside to do so, with a staff annual tax allowance totalling £150 per
person. Much better to spend this money showing staff they are valued
and motivating the team than letting it go to the taxman. Alas no more
bar humbug. Employees can let their hair down and celebrate the end of
the year with a Christmas party.

Taking on-board the current
desires of organisers, this Christmas at Thorpe Park we are bringing the
magical sights and sounds of a traditional Christmas to life. The venue
will be transformed into a spectacular winter wonderland complete with
snow coated woodland, glistening lights, ice fairies and Jack Frost
stilt walkers.
