QEII launches Our London campaign promoting the UK capital

The Queen Elizabeth II centre has launched its Our London campaign. Located in the heart of central London, QEII aims to become an ambassador not just for the venue, but for the city itself. As part of the campaign, the venue has released a digital brochure detailing London’s most attractive features.

With so many venues, sites and attractions in London, organisers are spoilt for choice. But the vast pool of options poses its own issue – making a decision about what to do and where to go can be a challenge.

QEII’s new campaign will offer clients a guide to hosting high-calibre events in the UK capital. The first edition will involve a deep dive into London’s business sectors, its bustling tech scene and its credentials as an association destination. Participants will then be given a tour of green London and the city’s hidden hotspots.

At the campaign’s launch on 25 July, QEII showed industry attendees its full capabilities as a destination for events. Copacabana dancers, stir fry stations, rainforest décor and multicoloured backlighting made for an impressive display of event-hosting force. The evening of music and cocktails made clear that hosting in London grants the organiser access to a huge network of entertainment providers.

Mark Taylor, chief executive at The QEII Centre, commented on the Our London campaign: “We’ve been located in the heart of this beautiful city since 1986 and we wanted to share our London with event organisers from the UK and across the world who are considering holding an event in London. ‘Our London’ is a celebration of the different elements that go into making London so unique: it’s a destination for everybody – one that is welcoming, inclusive, forward-thinking, multicultural and vibrant.”

Tracy Halliwell MBE, director of tourism, conventions & major events at London & Partners, added: “London is always buzzing with new things happening in the events scene. There are new venues, hotels, and cool places to eat and drink popping up all the time. But with all this change, planning an event here can get a bit tricky. That’s why the QEII’s ‘Our London’ campaign is so great! It makes it easier and more exciting to choose London as the go-to spot for business events.”
