Employee
conduct is, to some extent, up to the individual, but even at the
Christmas party, employers have a duty of care to their employees.
Companies who provide alcohol at Christmas events can be held liable for
drunken injuries on the way home. Here are some suggestions to limit
the risk:

1. Provide taxis home that your budget allows or organise car shares between attendees

2. Arrange a taxi marshal to ensure a steady flow of taxis at the end of the night

3. Provide clear information on how to get home as part of the invitation

4. Ensure drinks are limited before food, and non-alcoholic drinks are available.
