Sarah O’Donnell looks at a selection of venues and what they are doing for the Diamond Jubilee weekend:

Design Museum

 This
museum is right on the riveont, and located at the end of the pageant route,
meaning that guests and visitors will be immersed in the atmosphere. To
celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the pageant, the museum has tickets
to a festive day which includes food, drink and access to the riveont. It is
a family friendly event but it is also open for corporate hospitality and other
groups

Lord’s Cricket Ground

Ladies Day at
Lord’s, now in its fifth year, promises all the excitement of first-class
domestic cricket. It is taking place on the Jubilee bank holiday, Tuesday 5
June 2012, in the beautiful surroundings of Lord’s, the home of cricket. It is
free for ladies to attend, and those dressed in their finest summer attire, and
their accompanying gentlemen dressed in jackets and ties are invited to join
the Middlesex Committee and staff for a free champagne reception in the
beautiful Harris Gardens. Visitors can also indulge in the special BBQ menu
accompanied by a glass of Pimm’s in the Lord’s Tavern on any day of the Jubilee
long weekend

National Portrait Gallery

To mark the Diamond Jubilee the Gallery’s
exhibition The Queen: Art and Image
opens on 17 May and runs until 21 October 2012. The exhibition
brings together over 60 portraits of the Queen made during her reign, and
features works by Cecil Beaton, Andy Warhol and Annie Leibovitz

Tate Modern

The East Room at Tate Modern is available to hire on Sunday 3 June
2012, offering stunning views of the Thames from the level seven vantage point.
This room offers unrivalled views with three ceiling to floor glass walls

195 Piccadilly

The home of BAFTA
will be part of the street party that is planned on Piccadilly on 3 June. The
street will be pedestrianised and shops, cafes and other venues will be open to
the public. BAFTA will also be opening its doors to sell British afternoon teas
in the famous David Lean room and run a stall serving ‘Best of British’ produce
including British brewed beers and snacks made by the venue’s very own Head
Chef Anton Manganaro

St Paul’s

To celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee,
St Paul’s is hosting the National Service of Thanksgiving on 5 June
