Damian Cummins, one of the organisers of the National Association Awards, says its time to remember the achievements of associations

What a year it has been. Many of us have struggled as businesses, while some have flourished. One thing everyone is in agreement about is let’s leave 2020 behind and look forward to a prosperous post pandemic 2021. But how has everyone coped? Well for businesses feeling very isolated through shutdowns, furlough and closures, often there was only one recourse and that was to their trade association, federation or chamber.

Always there in a supporting capacity, associations have had to up their game, often while members leave in their droves in order to save membership fees. We see things differently; we consider associations and federations as a type of insurance policy: they are there in your time of need. Therefore, we are celebrating the achievements of the UK’s finest organisations during very challenging times. When we come out the other side and many people are predicting early spring with the emergence of several vaccines, we want to be ready to celebrate the best supporting groups from across Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England. Whether you have raised your game with the best virtual conference, perhaps you have a very impressive magazine or had a brilliant Covid-19 response initiative, we want to hear about it. Let us not forget your volunteers if you have them, often the very lifeline of an organisation, we want to recognise them too.

We will celebrate your achievements. All you need to do is tell us what they are, and our judges will decide on the worthy winners. Remember you can enter as many categories as you like, but do not leave it too late you’ve only a couple of weeks to get your entries in. So if you want to join us for a glitzy final in swanky Kensington London in April, enter today at www.naawards.co.uk. Meanwhile we’ll be busy ensuring a magnificent and safe environment to celebrate in and of course making sure the champagne is chilled to just the right temperature.

We looking forward to seeing you there.
