A list naming and shaming the world’s most expensive airport taxis has revealed the priciest global destinations.
The research, produced by Digital Hothouse, puts seven cities in New Zealand among the top 10 most expensive, with Christchurch topping the list.
Taxi passengers in the biggest city on New Zealand’s South Island pay an average rate per kilometre of NZ$4.50 – which equates to £2.30 for 1,000 metres.
London was placed eighth place in the table, below Wellington and Perth – but it was ranked higher than any other European of US city.
