Luxury Mayfair hotel The Athenaeum has appointed a Tweeter in Residence.

The hotel’s management says the idea of a Tweeter in Residence is to provide “an anonymous personal voice, divulging unique experiences and insider knowledge of the family owned boutique hotel”.

The scheme is designed to provide an experience of the daily life of the London hotel “through an enthusing, unidentifiable source”, according to The Athenaeum.

The hotel’s Marketing Manager, Lorraine Blake, says: “Twitter has always been an important part of the hotel’s marketing strategy. To be the first hotel to appoint a dedicated Tweeter in Residence is a wonderful accolade and in doing so we hope to capture the social and friendly spirit of the hotel.”

The Athenaeum Hotel and Apartments also represents a collection of private town-house apartments and 164 hotel bedrooms and 12 suites. The hotel has three dedicated meetings/event spaces: the Hyde Park, St James & Green Park rooms.
