Crowne Plaza Birmingham NEC, one of Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG)’s Company Managed Hotels, has unveiled a £350,000 refurbishment of its meeting and event facilities.

The hotel says it redesigned its 11 conference rooms based on guest feedback and trends in the meeting industry. The thinking was to make them more vibrant and feature new technology.

Delegates can now also enjoy break times with a selection of games consoles, TVs, PCs and Macs available in the new Hub area.

The hotel has also launched a new food and beverage philosophy developed specifically to support productivity, permance and energy levels. The nutritionally balanced menus have been designed to help delegates stay focused throughout the day, according to the hotel.

“The meetings industry has changed dramatically over the last few years, with both delegates and bookers expecting a certain level of service, quality and technology,” says David Steel, Crowne Plaza Birmingham NEC’s GM and The Midlands’ Cluster GM. “With this in mind, we have invested in our conference service, from the meetings rooms to games consoles and our meetings menu.”
