Belfast Wateont Conference Centre has seen 44 per cent of associations return to the venue to host their annual event over the last five years.
Belfast Wateont says a combination of “exceptional customer service, flexible space and a city centre location” have been cited as reasons driving repeat business.
“Since opening in 1997 we have built up an enviable client portfolio of associations,” said Jennifer Patterson, Revenue and Business Generation Manager at Belfast Wateont Conference Centre. “Our high percentage of repeat business is the greatest testament to our team’s expertise and their efforts to make each event a success.”
In November 2013, The British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) returned to the venue for its annual conference for the fifth time. Michael McAdoo from the BIFM Ireland Region Committee said the venue’s reputation, flexible space and close proximity to the city centre made it the ideal venue to host its annual conference.
Most recently, Belfast Ambassador Professor Linda Johnston from Queen’s University was instrumental in bringing 400 delegates from 35 countries to Belfast Wateont for the four-day 8th International Neonatal Nursing Conference. “The International Neonatal Nursing conference had not been held in this region for a number of years,” she said. “We chose the Belfast Wateont as the venue for this event as it represented an opportunity to showcase the city of Belfast as a gateway to Europe and beyond.”
A proposed £30m extension, which will provide an additional 4,000sqm of events space, is planned for Belfast Wateont. The proposed extension is expected to open in 2016.
