Do you ever organise or attend meetings that fail to accomplish as
much as you had hoped? Here are some tips to help you streamline your
approach and heighten productivity levels:

1. Failing to plan is
planning to fail – set a flexible agenda to encourage participants to
focus on what they want to achieve in the meeting

2. A precious
five minutes – split long meetings into smaller, topic-based chunks to
increase attendee concentration, and keep an eye on the clock to make
sure you stick to time limits.

3. Recognising the right ideas –
ask attendees to submit suggestions anonymously before the meeting so
the best proposals, rather than the strongest characters, are heard

4.
Worthy of note – nominate someone to record and distribute the minutes of
a meeting, to document decisions and confirm action points

5.
The door is always open – set aside time at the end of a meeting for
employees to see you on a first-come, first-served basis; great for
solving issues or quickly answering queries.
