Social Media has exploded onto the scene as a great way of
communicating with event attendees. Here’s our guide on how to use it as
an effective event marketing tool.

1. Engage your attendees

Interact
by asking and answering questions, promoting an incentive tied to the
event, or conducting your own mini survey on a relevant event topic

2. Provide value

Keep
momentum with regular posts and interactions before, during and after
the event, updating attendees on schedule changes or writing snappy
summaries

3. Be adaptable

Social media is a live
feed from the main event so keep on top of emerging trends and popular
themes and customise your offering to meet the needs of your audience

4 . Expand your brand

Answering
or posting questions and tagging pictures on the event organiser’s
platforms will help generate more followers and encourage further
interaction

5. Go global

Use social media as a free
marketing tool to reach those who couldn’t attend the event. Create
hashtags, upload photos or post videos that everyone can use, view or
comment on.
