Tunbridge Wells-based specialist PR and communications agency Davies Tanner is joining forces with a group of local organisations from the Kent area to create an evening of food, fundraising and entertainment to raise money for the victims of the Philippines typhoon disaster, which struck the country last month.

The event, which takes place on 18 December at The Corn Exchange in Tunbridge Wells, will feature authentic food created by some of the town’s local Filipino community, as well as festive treats provided by Rosemary Shrager’s Cookery School which is also based in Tunbridge Wells.

There will also be a raffle on the night to raise further funds for the appeal.

Claire Passos from Davies Tanner, one of the driving forces behind the event, said: “I have visited many countries across Asia and seeing the devastation that the typhoon has caused, really struck a chord with me and spurred me to do something about it. I have been overwhelmed with the support that the businesses and people of Tunbridge Wells have shown in pulling this event together, and would like to thank everyone who has been involved.”

The event runs 6-10pm and the entry price is £5 payable on the door, which will go directly to the appeal. Register your attendance in advance by emailing charity@daviestanner.co.uk. Donations for the appeal can also be made directly by visiting justgiving.com/TWtyphoonappel.
