The Old Royal Naval College (ORNC) has awarded Ampersand a £16m contract to look after its visitor catering, and conference and events services over the next seven years.

Event bookings at ORNC will be managed jointly, by an onsite team and by Ampersand’s sister company ITA. Together they will promote the venue’s spaces, including the Painted Hall, The Queen Mary Undercroft, the King William Undercroft and Admiral’s House.

Future developments at the venue will see The Painted Hall undergo conservation and the redevelopment of Admiral’s House so it better suits weddings and corporate entertaining.

Ampersand will offer a range of services for these venues including day delegate packages, bespoke events catering, gala dinners, outdoor catering and tours of the site with Yeomen Guides.

“This is the perfect time to refresh our events and catering services,” says Commercial Director at ORNC, Karine Lepeuple. “We chose Ampersand based on three criteria: the strength of its proactive sales and marketing resource; its ability to deliver a mix of high quality visitor catering plus high-profile events; and the team’s enthusiasm to support our vision for the future of this world heritage site.”
