Sussex-based Ashdown Academy’s 54 post graduate students recently visited three key London venues, as part of their event management coursework.
The students were welcomed by 10-11 Carlton House Terrace (The British Academy), The In & Out, Naval and Military Club and Central Hall Westminster.
Claire Derrick, Ashdown Academy’s Director of Education, tells CN: “I cannot stress enough the importance of these site visits. During their time in the classroom our students learn the theory behind event management and it is vital that they put this learning into practice. By simulating a real-life venue visit they are able to get to grips with what is required of them as event professionals.
“This type of learning means that when they leave us and enter the industry they are fully equipped to do the job they are paid to do – good for them and their employer.”
