The fifth in a series of free-to-attend Technology Masterclasses for event professionals, organised and hosted by London conference and meetings venue 1 Wimpole Street, focused on the live streaming of events and using social media.

With over 100 delegates in attendance today (21 November), the masterclass explored topics including how to prepare for an event, how to adequately stream an event online, and techniques on promoting an event using social media.

MD of Planet Planit and the former Meeting Professionals International UK & Ireland President (2007/8), Paul Cook, gave a presentation on live streaming, and how organisers can now push the traditional event boundaries and reach a global online audience.

Cook also gave tips on how to extend the life of an event by making content from the event accessible online.

SiteVisibility and BrightonSEO’s Chief Executive, Jason Woord, also took to the stage to discuss the advantages of using social media to promote an event before, during and after. Woord highlighted techniques including using event hashtags on Twitter, working with local businesses to raise awareness of an event on social media and the importance of monitoring feedback of an event on Twitter.

Over 100 online delegates tuned into to view the live stream of the Technology Masterclass.
