Five months since opening Dunblane hotel Old Churches House, formerly Scottish Churches House, has reached its 1,000th booking. The achievement has been made at a time when Phase two of the building’s redevelopment is about to commence.
Operator Alex McKie, of the Fusion Group of Companies, said: “We are delighted with our early success here with figures being racked up in a short space of time such as 1,000 bookings and 5,000 meals served in our restaurant, The Dining Room.
“We are fortunate that there has been a lot of local interest in this historic building, but we like to think that our sensitive commercialism of this building into an 11-bedroom hotel with its own afternoon tea lounge, restaurant and function space, has also played its part.”
Phase two sees the £24,000 renovation of Old Churches House 17th Century Chapel. The installation of new flooring, ventilation and seating will bring the unique space into the 21st Century, while still retaining its character and ambience.
The former Wardens Cottage in the grounds is also being turned into self catering accommodation, joining the existing portfolio of 11 bedrooms next Spring.
The hotel’s meeting spaces includes the Fraser Suite with a pitched ceiling, exposed beams and large windows for up to 60 delegates; the Krik Lounge for up to 25 delegates and the John Ballie Room for up to 12 guests.
The Fusion Group of Companies also operates Carphin by St Andrews, an exclusive use Mansion House; Logierait Lodges in Pitlochry and runs a meetings and events company.
