Each afternoon in every Mövenpick Hotel around the world, guests are surprised by delicious chocolate temptations in their hotel lobbies.
Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts call it The Chocolate Hour. This happens around the world in all 78 hotels from Ghana to Amsterdam to Paris to Dubai and the Philippines and Singapore.
The UK office, which is outsourced to the representation company Hotel Republic, recreated The Chocolate Hour and invite MICE clients to a chocolate making and tasting event in central London on 10 October 2013.
Clients from the following companies attended: Appointments Group, Blue Line Events, The Finishing Touch, Grass Roots, Incisive Media, Juice Life Comms, Kuoni Events, Number 20 Events, Statesman Travel, Synergy medical, Travel Places, Venue Seekers, Venuelinks, W&O Events, and Zibrant.
Mövenpick hired Guy Wolley via the company The Tasting Quarter, who is one of the best known chocolatiers in the UK. Guy, trained in London and Paris, has a prund knowledge of gastronomy gleaned from over thirty years within the food business, both as a chef and restaurateur. Television appearances include ITV’s Saturday Cooks, UKTV Food and BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen.
As a venue Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts selected the roof top kitchen at wallacespace in Covent Garden.
Kai Schomann, Hotel Republic’s Managing Director, says: “Every client was able to design their own chocolate creations. Some did whiskey flavoured truffles, some did vanilla chocolates and some went for Orange of Baileys flavour. We had many ingredients to choose from. All clients made round chocolates except one: Katie Duckett from Zibrant presented us with squared chocolates which won her a prize from the chocolatier. The winning team of the Chocolate quiz was the PARIS team with clients from Venue Seekers and Blue Line Events’’.
