Prime Minister David Cameron has again endorsed the Britain for
Events
campaign with a letter congratulating the industry, and campaign,
for its contribution to the UK industry.

“I am delighted again to congratulate Britain for Events for its admirable and tireless work in promoting the country and its many talents to the world,” says the Prime Minister in the letter, adding that he wished the campaign well for its 2013/14 period.

Britain for Events, along with key sponsor International Confex, has provided secretarial support for the All Party Parliamentary Group for Events Inquiry (APPG) into the international competitiveness of the UK events industry over the summer.

“The Prime Minister’s support is a great endorsement of the industry, but on a more practical level it provides a strong message to all areas of government and business that this is a significant campaign,” says Michael Hirst, Campaign spokesperson and Chair of the Business Visits & Events Partnership. “Through the Ministerial Support initiative and the APPG inquiry, the industry’s profile within UK government is growing, it’s now a matter of leveraging this support for the good of the industry.”

The Britain for Events campaign and International Confex continue to work with UKTI and VisitBritain to gain further benefits from their respective business and tourism strategies.
