A team of seven Keith Prowse employees will cycle nearly 200 miles from London to Paris to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The three-day corporate challenge, which begins on 27 September, will see the team ride from the heart of London through to the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Hospitality provider Keith Prowse and parent company, Compass Group, have been raising funds for Cancer Research UK since 2009. The current total of money raised is over £1m with a target of £6,000 for this event.
The ride starts in Bexley Heath and the cyclists will travel 65 miles through the Kent countryside to Folkstone, where they will be ferried across to Calais. The group has allowed seven and a half hours to ride from Dieppe to Gisors on the second day. The third and final leg of the journey is a 60 mile ride from Gisor to the finishing line in Paris.
“An event like this really shows unity among Keith Prowse emloyees,” says Operations Executive, Francesca Stokes. “We have had fantastic support throughout the company and the team have been great fun to train with. Knowing we are raising money for such a worthy cause has helped keep up moral on the long training rides and to hit our fundraising goal would be brilliant.”
The 56-strong Keith Prowse team have pulled together to help the cycling team raise funds by holding cake sales and a raffle will be held on 20 September.
