The Hotel Booking Agents Association has appointed Juliet Price as its Executive Director.

The HBAA’s Board of Directors conducted a search for candidates
throughout June and July this year, and, following shortlisting and
voting by both the Board and Executive Committee, Price, who had filled
the role in an interim capacity, was offered the permanent position.

The previous Executive Director Peter Ducker left earlier this year.

Price, a past Chair of the HBAA, will now take the helm of the HBAA,
and oversee a team directly reporting to her from the HBAA’s
headquarters in Surrey. She will liaise with the Executive Committee to
implement the association’s strategies and goals.

A key objective identified by the association is increasing
collaborations between the HBAA and other UK industry associations,
driving best practice across the association by promoting and upholding
the Code of Conduct, and supporting Chris Parnham’s drive to deliver
more training, value for members, inclusion, relevant content and
action.

“I’m delighted to continue supporting the HBAA, its Board and
Committees as I have throughout the year,” said Price. “The
association’s growing presence in the marketplace is having a great
effect on the business travel sector; this is evident from our
increasing membership, and we want to use this influence in partnership
with other industry bodies to promote our sector.”

Chris Parnham, Chair of the HBAA, said: “I’m delighted to welcome
Juliet on board in a permanent capacity, and her appointment means the
Executive Committee can continue to work towards best practice in the
industry. Juliet brings a great deal of experience with her from her
time as 2011 Chair and interim Executive Director, and she possesses a
vast amount of industry knowledge. I’m sure Juliet will be instrumental
in reinforcing our status as the sector’s leading association.”

Juliet Price will make her inaugural address to the HBAA’s members as
Executive Director at 2013’s Annual Forum, ‘Made to Measure’, which
will be held at Twickenham Stadium, 5-6 September 2013.
