World Travel Market (WTM), a global event for the travel industry, is calling on its WTM Buyers’ Club members to register for the WTM Speed Networking programme.

WTM says its speed networking has proved successful since its introduction in 2010, and last year the traditional Monday morning pre-WTM opening session to drive event business deals was joined by a Thursday session aimed at facilitating post-event business.

The two sessions were attended by 310 buyers and 867 exhibitors, and played a key role in WTM 2012 facilitating a record £1,860m in industry deals, according to the organisers Reed Travel Exhibitions.

“Speed networking is a perfect way to start World Travel Market,” says UK MD for online private sales business VoyagePrive. “Almost everyone I talked to was relevant, and in this context it is possible to get down to the key points of interest.”

WTM Director Simon Press, adds: “WTM Speed Networking has been a great success since it was introduced in 2010. Both exhibitors and WTM Meridian Club Buyers have embraced the concept of quick initial business meetings to discover if there is an opportunity for further detailed discussions. WTM’s purpose is to facilitate business deals between exhibitors and buyers and the speed networking programme can only lead to WTM generating even more industry deals.”

Emails inviting registrations will be sent to all WTM Buyers’ Club members in the coming weeks.
