Lee Valley White Water Centre, landscaped gardens and country mansions were on the agenda of the latest Visit Essex Business Familiarisation Visit for event organisers held this week.
Carol Jolly, Business Tourism Manager for Visit Essex, said “We aim to give organisers an an insight into some of our  unique venues throughout the county, a taster so that they will be enthused to come back and use them for their next events. This year’s choice included modern and historic venues plus two team building activities in the South West of the county”.
The day kicked off with an informal networking breakfast hosted by the Waltham Abbey Marriott Hotel, then it was on to the Lee Valley White Water Centre where extensive renovations include adding two more meeting rooms.
Next stop was Ingatestone Hall before lunch at the Holiday Inn, Brentwood.
In the afternoon organisers got to look round Valentines Mansion, Ilford, home of the first ever Great British Bake Off.
Last stop was Topgolf at Chigwell  and a little competition on the driving range to end the day.
Nicky Harris from Royal Insurance Group said: “There were beautiful historic buildings that I did not know existed in the Essex area, and I’m sure RSA will be using the Venues in the very near future. Met some great people on the tour, and the golf was great for team building which I will be suggesting for my management team”.
Visit Essex for Business’s next event will be a venue showcase on 3 September at the Holiday Inn Southend Airport, and the Cultural Centre at the end of the Pier.
