Organisers report a record attendance of 200 delegates at the 2012 ASAP (Association of Serviced Apartment Suppliers) Serviced Apartment Conference and Exhibition, held in London on 6 December.

David Smith, ASAP Chairman, said: “This year’s annual conference of the ASAP once again stepped up a gear and proved beyond doubt the cohesive commitment of every operator to grow, not just the industry sector and their profits but the standards and reputation of what we all do.

“In a relatively new sector there is always so much to learn but what was particularly positive was how everyone is willing to share their knowledge and experiences in the best interests of the industry as a whole.

“Our 2012 Conference was a great way to end the year on a positive note in this relentlessly advancing industry that is definitely changing the way in which people want to live when they are away from home.”

In terms of business permance of the serviced apartment sector in 2012, ASAP confirms that the third quarter has delivered the highest occupancy of the year for the sector averaging 88 per cent for London and 85 per cent in the regions.

Average net weekly rental for London was £1,214 and for the rest of the UK £655.

ASAP membership has grown to 58 serviced apartment operators and agencies representing over 12,000 properties throughout the UK and Ireland.
