The Association of Irish Professional Conference Organisers (AIPCO) has announced today (10 December) that the inaugural AIPCO Business Tourism Conference will take place in the Clyde Hotel, Dublin on 7 March, 2013.

The conference will focus on the partnership opportunities between PCOs and suppliers within and outside Ireland through the theme ‘Collaboration Wins Business’.

Delegates will be invited from regional convention bureaus, the hotel industry, venues, restaurants and service areas within the business tourism industry.

“In a country the size of Ireland, relationships and collaboration is key,” said Jean Evans, Chair of AIPCO.

“We have to constantly evolve our ideas on not only how we can compete on the international stage, but also how we work together to achieve our aims. The relationships with suppliers are as important as those with your clients; one does not work without the other.”

The one-day programme will include one-on-one mentoring opportunities with invited experts, plenary sessions with Irish and international speakers, followed by interactive workshops and ending with a networking dinner.

Susan Nolan, Vice-Chair of AIPCO said delegates would not only glean new knowledge of future trends and current challenges, “they’ll be able to meet the people providing the solutions”.

AIPCO says the 2013 Business Tourism Conference will be the first of its type and aims for the event to become a vital part of the Irish business tourism calendar.
