Donington leads the Leicestershire conference offer to the Commons

Local venues and accommodation providers and North West Leicestershire MP, Andrew Bridgen, hosted a group of national conference organisers in the House of Commons on 6 December. The main focus was to discuss opportunities for hosting events in the Donington area.
 
DMC Leicester Shire Promotions promoted the latest in a series of events at the House of Commons designed to promote the business tourism offer in the region. 
 
This year’s event highlighted the large conference and exhibition centre at Donington Park and a range of local hotel accommodation options.
 
Agencies attending the event included representatives from Hemmings Group, Deeper Blue, TFI Group, HelmsBriscoe, and CWT Meetings & Events.
 
Leicester Shire Promotions recently announced a new, three-year initiative with tourism businesses in North West Leicestershire to attract conferences and events. Venues involved in the initiative include Donington Park, Radisson Blu Hotel East Midlands Airport, Donington Manor Hotel, Hilton East Midlands Airport,Thistle East Midlands Airport, Priest House on the River and Best Western Premier Yew Lodge Hotel.
 
Andrew Bridgen, MP for North West Leicestershire said: “One of the key reasons for holding the event was to raise the profile of the new initiative in Donington. We were also looking to explore opportunities for hosting events and ways in which to promote the area to this market, with the ultimate goal of increasing business tourism numbers and spend in North West Leicestershire.”
